Scope: This policy covers the gratefulforu.com marketing website, the Weekly Gratitude email newsletter, and the Grateful For U web application at gratefulforu.com/app, including sign-in with Google.

Who we are

Grateful For U (women-owned and operated) operates gratefulforu.com and the Weekly Gratitude newsletter. Our mailing address is 1000 Johnnie Dodds Blvd Ste 103, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464-3135. You can reach us at info@gratefulforu.com.

Information we collect

We collect information in two ways:

• Newsletter signup — when you subscribe, we collect your email address, the fact and time of your consent, and where you signed up (e.g. this website). We use a double opt-in process, so we also record your confirmation.
• Contact and inquiry forms — if you fill out a form on this site (e.g. to request a demo or ask a question), we collect what you submit: name, email, organization, and message.

We do not currently use website analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies for tracking purposes on this marketing site.

The Grateful For U web application

The web application at gratefulforu.com/app lets companies and individuals send appreciation cards and gift cards. To provide it we collect:

• Account information — your name, email address, and profile picture, either entered by you or provided by Google if you choose "Sign in with Google" (see below). Authentication is handled by our identity provider, Clerk.
• Company and program data — the company you belong to, your role in it, the programs you participate in, and the cards and gifts you send.
• Recipient information — the name and email address of each person you send a card or gift to, and your message to them, so we can deliver it.
• Transaction records — account funding, gift values, and redemptions, for billing, reporting, and fraud prevention.

We use this information only to operate the service: to sign you in, deliver cards and gifts, show your company its reporting, bill for funded accounts, and provide support. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.

Sign in with Google

If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us through the standard OpenID Connect scopes (openid, email, profile). We request nothing else. We use that information solely to create your Grateful For U account and to sign you in on later visits. We never post to Google on your behalf, never read your Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, or Drive, and never share Google account data with third parties except our identity provider, Clerk, which processes it on our behalf to perform the sign-in.

Grateful For U's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can disconnect Google from your account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or email info@gratefulforu.com to delete your account and its data.

How we use your information

• To send the Weekly Gratitude newsletter to subscribers who have opted in.
• To measure aggregate newsletter engagement (such as open and click rates) so we can improve what we send.
• To respond to inquiries submitted through a contact form.
• To meet legal, security, and recordkeeping obligations (for example, maintaining evidence of consent).

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We use Mailchimp (Intuit Mailchimp) to send and manage the newsletter; your email address and engagement data are processed by Mailchimp on our behalf, subject to Intuit's privacy statement. For the web application we use Clerk for authentication, Amazon Web Services for hosting and email delivery, and gift card vendors to fulfil the gifts you send (they receive only what is needed to issue the gift). Each processes data on our behalf and under contract. We do not otherwise share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe — every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also update your preferences using the link in any newsletter email.
• Access, correction, or deletion — email info@gratefulforu.com to request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.

How long we keep information

We keep newsletter subscriber records, including consent evidence, for as long as you're subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal and recordkeeping requirements. If you unsubscribe, we retain your address on a suppression list to make sure we don't email you again, even if it's later re-imported by mistake.

Children's privacy

This website and newsletter are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices change or as required by law. Material changes will update the effective date above.
